Antonio Valverde Ramos

On December 22nd 2009, appointed General Director at the Agency of Innovation and Development of Andalucía (IDEA), being his current position.
Taught usually at the Institute of Public Administration of Andalucía, at the University of Seville and at the International University of Andalucía in different training programs.

Pilar Sáenz de Ormijana

Counselor of the Ministry of Finance at the Permanent Representation of Spain at the EU. In charge of budgetary and own resources issues from October 2008 till June 2011, chairing the Budget Committee of the Council during the Spanish Presidency 2010. Since June 2011, responsible for the Multiannual Financial Framework and Cohesion Policy issues.

Gaspar Llanes Diaz Salazar

Born in Seville in 1964.
Bachelor in Economic and Business Sciences from the University of Seville, he is a civil servant and has been part of the Corps of General Administration of the Regional Government of Andalusia since 1988.
In April 2010 he became Secretary General for the Economy of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Chairman of Extenda (the Andalusian Exterior Promotion Agency), and Deputy Chairman of the Andalucía Emprende foundation.
Also in the area of administration in Andalusia, he was the Director of the Institute of Statistics of Andalusia from 1996 to 2000 and President of the Andalusian Council for the Defence of Competition from 2007 to 2010.

Guadalupe Melgosa Fernández

Bachelor in Law from the University of Seville, specialising in EU Law from the Robert Schuman University, Strasbourg.
She belongs to the Senior Corps of Civil State Administrators and the Corps of General Administrators of the Regional Government of Andalusia.
She is currently an Attaché of the Sub-Directorate General for the Administration of the ERDF, in the Directorate General of EU Funds of the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations.
She has also worked as a Councillor in the Permanent Representation of Spain to the European Union, and in different posts at different Ministries of the Government of Spain.

Rosa Vihavainen

Ms Vihavainen works as Education and Innovation Expert in Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council. She is a Doctor in Social Science; her doctoral dissertation studied the civil society development in post-socialist Russia. She currently works in regional development planning and forecasting education and labour market needs. She is also responsible for Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council's cooperation with Moscow Region and development of regional cooperation with Russia.

Antonio Galán Pedregosa

Antonio Galán Pedregosa nació en Valenzuela (Córdoba) en 1967. Licenciado en Geografía por la Universidad de Granada, Máster en Ordenación del Territorio por la Universidad de Alicante y Experto en Desarrollo Local por IPADE (Madrid), pertenece desde 1992 al Cuerpo Superior Facultativo de la Junta de Andalucía desde 1992.
Actualmente desempeña las tareas de Subdirector General de la Agencia de Innovación y Desarrollo de Andalucía. Así mismo, ha sido Director del Gabinete de Análisis y Prospectiva, Coordinador y Secretario General. Con anterioridad fue Jefe de Servicio de Relaciones Institucionales, Asesoramiento e Información en la Dirección General de Asuntos Europeos y Cooperación Exterior de la Consejería de Presidencia.

Christian Saublens

Executive Manager of the European Association of Development Agencies.
Christian Saublens has more than 30 years of working experience in European trade organizations. Since 1992 he is the Executive Manager of EURADA, the European Association of Development Agencies, a network of some 100 organisations. Christian has been involved in the organization of numerous conferences and meetings dealing with all matters related to regional development. He wrote several papers and working documents on business support schemes for SMEs. He played an important role for the dissemination in European regions of concepts such as benchmarking, business angels, investment readiness, proof of concept, clusters, open innovation, financial engineering, crowdfunding, smart specialization strategies, ¿ Several times Christian has been appointed as an expert by the European Commission and the Committee of the Regions.

She has carried out notable work in the European Parliament and in various Reports and Regulations of Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund, and within the current Telecommunications and Information Society Package, Rapporteur for the Directive 87/372/EC on frequency bands to be reserved for the coordinated introduction of public pan-European cellular digital land-based mobile communications in the Community. And in the Senate, as Rapporteur for the Special Committee Report on the Performing Arts in Spain 1996-2000.

Bachelor's Degree in Political Sciences and Sociology, specialising in International Studies, from the Complutense University of Madrid. Postgraduate studies in Political Sociology and Political and Social Sciences in the European University Institute in Florence. Master's Degree in Leadership in Public Administration at IESE Business School. Journalism studies.

Vicente Fernández Guerrero

Vicente Fernández Guerrero was born in Malaga in 1973. He has a degree in law from the University of Seville and entered by public examination in the Lawyers Team of the Andalusian Government in 1999. Currently he is the General Secretary of Innovation, Industry and Energy of the regional ministry of Economy, Innovation, Science and Employment.

Miguel González-Sancho

Miguel González-Sancho is currently Deputy Head of the Unit "Growth and Jobs" at the European Commission, in the Directorate General "Communication Networks, Content and Technology". Previously he was a Member of Cabinet of Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for the Digital Agenda, and before that he held different positions in the European Commission Directorate General for the Information Society, with responsibilities relating to EU telecoms legislation, digital policy coordination and social inclusion. In particular, he was Deputy Head of the Unit "Digital Agenda: Policy Coordination" and of the unit "ICT for inclusion".

Eliana Garcés Tolón

Eliana Garcés Tolón is a Senior Economist and Deputy Head of Unit in charge of Industrial Competitiveness Policy at the European Commission. She is a former Member of the Cabinet of Vice President Joaquin Almunia, European Commissioner for Competition Policy and was previously a member of the Cabinet of European Commissioner for Consumer Affairs Meglena Kuneva. She has worked as a member of the Chief Economist Team in the Directorate General of Competition in the European Commission and in private economic consulting in the United States. Eliana holds a PhD in Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles.
 

Samuele Furfari

Sam Furfari has an applied science doctorate in chemical engineering from the ULB. He is working since more than 30 years at the European Commission where he has devoted his entire career to energy. He designed and implemented various energy policies. He currently contributes to the coordination of various energy policies by advising the Director General. Sam teaches Geopolitics of Energy at the Free University of Brussels. He works also for the European Energy Forum which is a group of Members of European Parliament. He is regularlyinvited to speak at conferences throughout Europe and in the media. He is the author of six books on energy and sustainable development, including "Policy and the Geopolitics of Energy" (Technip, 2012) and "Ecology in Wonderland" (Publisher Bourin, 2012).

Bárbara López de Quintana

Bárbara López de Quintana es Subdirectora General de Relaciones Institucionales del Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad y Secretaria de la Comisión Ejecutiva del Consejo de Politica Científica, Tecnológica y de Innovación, órgano de coordinación de las políticas de I+D+i a nivel autonómico y estatal. Esta Comisión ha elaborado, en colaboración con el Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad, la nueva Estrategia Española de Ciencia y Tecnología y de Innovación 2013-2020, aprobada por el Consejo de Ministros el pasado 1 de febrero.
Es ingeniero industrial por la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid y máster en Políticas Públicas de I+D+i por la universidad de Sussex. Ha trabajado en la Oficina Española de Patentes y Marcas y en distintas unidades del antiguo Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación y de la actual Secretaría de Estado de I+D+i.

Eva Vázquez Sánchez

Eva Vázquez Sánchez has a Master Degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of San Sebastian, and a Master Degree in Environmental Engineering at the Imperial College of London.
She started her career as an engineer in 1997, working for four years in the Andalusian Environmental Management Agency.
She is a civil servant at the Andalusian Regional Administration since 2000.

Es Ingeniero Industrial Mecánico por la Escuela Superior de Ingenieros de la Universidad de Navarra (07/96-07/02).
En enero de 2013 es nombrado Director de la Agencia Gallega de Innovación, desde donde define y gestiona todas las políticas de innovación de la comunidad autónoma de Galicia.

Carmen Sillero

Actualmente es la Coordinadora del Área de Estrategia y Programas de la Agencia IDEA. Entre otros cometidos es responsable de los programas regionales e internacionales de la Agencia IDEA y de los temas relacionados con Análisis y Evaluación.
Dentro de sus actuales cometidos, coordina la Secretaria Técnica que está elaborando la RIS3 de Andalucía.
Carmen Sillero, ingeniero agrónomo por la Universidad de Córdoba, está actualmente inmersa en su tesis doctoral sobre el concepto de la Especialización Inteligente en regiones periféricas, temática sobre la que ha escrito varios artículos.

Manuel Palazuelos Martinez

Manuel works for the European Commission, at the S3 Platform of the DG Joint Research Center. He has developed a good part of his career at DG ECFIN, the Direction General of Economic and Monetary Affairs of the European Commission in Brussels. Moreover, he has taught in university, at the Department of Economics of the London School of Economics (LSE), where he was awarded five annual prizes for excellence in teaching, and where he did postgraduate studies. He has also other postgraduate and graduate degrees both in Spain and the UK, and has presented his research in numerous universities such as Oxford, Columbia, London School of Economics, Cambridge or Georgetown.

Markku Markkula

Markku Markkula works within Aalto University as the Advisor to Aalto Presidents, focusing on European Union strategy affairs. His previous university assignments comprised being the member of Aalto University Transformation Team (2008-2009) and the Director of the Centre for Continuing Education (1985-1991) and the Lifelong Learning Institute Dipoli (1992-1995, 2003-2008) of the Helsinki University of Technology (TKK).
